Day 1: Bari
Arrival transfer from Bari airport to your hotel. Welcome drink, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Apulian culinary tradition in Bari & Alberobello
Buffet breakfast. Morning guided tour to discover Bari and its particular Old City (known as “Bari Vecchia”). Admire the Cathedral and the stunning Romanesque Basilica of San Nicola, housing the relics of St. Nicholas. Continue your walking tour reaching the Swabian Castle built by the Normans just above ancient ruins of a Byzantine church and have a peek of the Harbor and its open-air fish market. Lunch on your own. Continue to Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city of Trulli, famous worldwide for their beauty and unique characteristics. They were built in a particular historical period, when the construction of stable dwellings was highlytaxed; the inhabitants of the region thus boasted a great capacity to adapt, and an exceptional cleverness in coming up with the idea for the Trulli, temporary houses built with local stone. Guided tour through this area to see Casa d’Amore and Sant’Antonio Church. Back to your hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Fisherman tradition in Barletta - Castel del Monte
Buffet breakfast. Morning departure to Barletta for a walking tour of the city, visit the Old Town, the Castle, the Eraclio Statue, the imposing bronze statue dating from the fourth century, the Cantina of the Disfida and the Cathedral. Continue to Castel del Monte in Andria, one of the 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy, commissioned by Frederick II of Swabia in the 13th Century, with a massive and dominating octagonal structure that sits on a small stretch of the Murge plateau. Lunch in a typical Apulian Masseria and then continue to the amazing city of Trani . Explore the old town with your guide and visit the Cathedral of Trani an elegant example of Romanesque-Puglian architecture. Dinner in a beautiful and charming restaurant just along Trani’s harbour. Back to your hotel and overnight.

Day 4: Cooking class in Ostuni - Polignano a Mare
Buffet breakfast. Drive to Ostuni where we will have a private cooking class followed by lunch. Learn the secrets of how to make homemade orecchiette pasta and other delicious local dishes like the panzerotti. In the afternoon departure to Polignano a Mare for a walking tour of the old town. The old name of the town, Polisnea, clearly indicates its Greek origins. It stands overlooking the sea on a steep, rocky cliff cut by a deep gorge. Because of the karst nature of this cliff a number of caves have been formed. Some of the these where inhabited by prehistoric men. Back to your hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Matera - Acerenza - Salerno
Buffet breakfast. Departure to Matera, the European Capital of Culture in 2019. Guided walking tour through Matera’s Sassi area and its city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting Casa Grotta, Chiesa di Santa Lucia delle Malve, Saint Chiara and Saint Francesco d’Assisi and the Roman Cathedral. The Sassi represent a unique urban settlement in the harsh territorial area of Murge (Apulia region). Lunch on your own. Free time to stroll in center of the town. In the afternoon continue to Acerenza, officially listed as one of the top 50 most beautiful towns in Italy. Known locally as ‘Cathedral City’, Acerenza is home to a stunning cathedral in romanesque-gothic style dated back to the 11th century. Following the visit stop at a local wine producer and taste the Aglianico DOC. wine. In the street of the “Cantine” (via delle Cantine) is still possible to visit the ancient caves where the wine was originally produced and stored. Transfer to Salerno. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Amalfi Coast
Buffet breakfast. Morning departure to the famous Amalfi coast, undoubtedly one of the most spectacular place in the world with its amazing landscapes and panoramas. The scenic drive through the Amalfi coast will give the opportunity to take countless pictures of this breathtaking landscape. Stop in Positano for pictures to explore the city center and lunch on your own. Continue to Amalfi, a very unique town with the 11th century cathedral of St. Andrew and tasting for real Limoncello, the lemon based liquor. Next stop Ravello, located above Amalfi, that has long been a retreat for artists and writers. Back to your hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Pompeii - Vesuvio - Naples
Buffet breakfast. Departure to Pompeii, the city which was frozen in time under volcanic ashes. You will still see people attempting to escape as well as its preserved ruins of the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter and the Forum. Continue to Vesuvio to admire the place known for the eruption that led to the burying and destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and several other settlements. Lunch in a local restaurant just under the imposing Volcano. Afternoon travel to Naples for a panoramic city tour of Naples. Admire the famous Spaccanapoli, then continue the walking tour with the Royal Palace and the Maschio Angioino. Free time and then return to the hotel in the Naples area. Dinner and overnight. Day 8: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the Naples airport.
